Visscher group micromagnetics program beta site

This is an OLD "beta" version (beta1.7) of a general-purpose micromagnetics code that is designed to be easy to get running. Unless you really want version 1.7 you should back up the directory tree and get version 1.8.
If you already have a previous version, you only need to download 2 files into a directory on your PC (right-click and choose "save link target as"):

Then go to that directory and double-click AlaMag.exe (read the user's guide for more details)..

The following file is also required by the program, but is already present on many systems -- download only if you get an error message requesting it:

MSVCRTD.dll

There are several sample script files on the script directory.

What's new in version beta1.7:

It now allows anisotropy-graded media. Anisotropy in each rectangle is a power law, H_K = const + const * xⁿ set by giving n and the left and right values of H_K.
You can now change the external field during the simulation, using the keypad arrows.
There's a "Display" block in the script file, that allows you to display the time in the simulation window.

This code has been developed over a period of years by P. B. Visscher, Y. Gunal, M. Benakli, D. M. Apalkov, and Arko Misra, and ported to the Windows platform by P. B. Visscher and Robert Cook.
